Inner Growth Exercise of the Day: People Will Remind You Of What They Think Of You

Exploring how people will remind you of what they think of you and the opportunity for inner growth that comes from this; why going within and deciding who determines what you are is what you want to do when you find yourself in these situations; how unconditional love for self and others is a part of the process; and what it means to know who you are from the heart, while accepting that others may always have a different opinion on the matter.

Your Inner Growth Exercise of The Day depending on where you are in your journey:

  1. Inner Growth Exercise for Beginners: Make a list of how you see yourself (your behavior, character traits, anything that comes to mind). Decide on the things you want to work with and on for your quality of life. Any time you’re faced with someone reminding you of what they think of you that includes one of these aspects, notice your thoughts and feelings. Then bring forth one to three ways you can pursue more of what you’ve chosen about that specific trait/characteristic, while being in a place of love towards self and others (particularly those who share their thoughts, whether favorable or not to the growth you’re pursuing).
  1. Inner Growth Exercise for Intermediate: Find all areas of judgement for those who tell you what they think of you and what in turn that brings within you. Bring forth unconditional love, neutrality, and one to three things you can do to stay true to your heart and know that you’re doing what you can to bring forth more of the person you have chosen to be (do this with love in your heart for self, life, and others).
  1. Inner Growth Exercise for Advanced: Journal about all the ah ha inner growth moments that arise from situations where people keep reminding you of what they think of you and also list some of the most interesting interactions that take place in these situations with the people involved.
