- Inner Growth Lifestyle Insight of The Day: In recent years the neuroscience/psychiatry community of researchers and practitioners have uncovered an additional three defense mechanism responses to our main defense/nervous system responses (societal engagement, fight/flight and freeze/pause) that include: please and appease (also known as fawn), attach/cry-for-help, and collapse/submit (read more here: https://www.nicabm.com/an-underlying-cause-for-feeling-unworthy/). The collapse/submit brings about a deep sense of unworthiness that consequently also fuels shame and self-blame (as you’ll read in the article and see Janina Fisher, PhD, explain in the video included in the blog post). When you can become a person who is unconditionally loving towards yourself and others, when you can find worthiness in all and know that all people defend themselves, sometimes in the most misunderstood ways, then you will be able to be in a place of support, expansion, and infinite higher human potential and you will transcend all sense of unworthiness (for yourself and humanity as a whole). Through unconditional love and understanding of the human body’s defense mechanism at its core (the nervous system and brain regulation development at infancy) you make a difference in your life, in the life of others, and in the world. The core of every human’s body holds a nervous system that evolves and has at its foundation a defense mechanism response that develops at infancy to ensure we survive even the worst-case circumstances. The words “evil, wicked, mean, etc.” all came to be because this information was not visible to the eyes of doctors before the time of technology. Today’s technology is able to actually see what happens in the neurons that fire of the brain, in the nervous system’s way of working when we are scared or angry and so forth, and we even have a map of consciousness that has emotions calibrated from the “Power vs. Force” book by David R. Hawkins. There is much more to being a human than people talk about in their everyday pop psychology reading material and societal chit-chats. These are some of the reasons why the words “evil, wicked, mean, etc.” are still used; due to lack of in-depth information on why people do what they do, on why human behavior is what it is. Not to mention that if you go down an in-depth path of our human species past, you can also understand why we have collective trauma, societal trauma, in addition to each and every person’s own household and personal life experiences trauma. Be the change you want to see in this world. Be the love and show the way through unconditional love.
