Inner Growth Word of The Day 279 – Situation

October 6

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Situation

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 4. position with respect to conditions and circumstances.

Situation in a sentence: The importance of each situation you encounter is based on what is important and valuable to you.

Situation in action: When you are in a set of circumstances, whether personal or professional, that create a specific condition, that is a situation

Situation and inner growth: Every situation you encounter is an opportunity to learn something about yourself as you interact with the circumstances involved.  This type of exploration brings about inner growth and can change time and time again thanks to growth.

Situation and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What does a situation mean to me?  How do I grade importance of situations?  Why do some situations matter to me and others don’t?  When do I evaluate situations?  How does a situation affect my day to day?  Why have I invested more time in some situations and not others?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with situation at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. Now think of one of the most important situations that you’ve experienced in your life and use the words from your list to write about.  Next to this situation list least important ones and notice what stands out as the major difference between them.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about when you are going through a situation that is important to you. Notice how your emotions change both in feeling and where they stem from and go as you think of different situations.

Your turn – Share your situation sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
