Inner Growth Word of The Day 278 – Position

October 5

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Position

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 2. a point of view adopted and held to.  5 a. relative place, situation, or standing.

Position in a sentence: A position in life can mean different things to different people, what’s important is that your heart and soul are included in that position.

Position in action: If you take a stand on something you believe in and voice it to others, that is taking a position.

Position and inner growth: A look at the position you hold and the positions you take, bring you to explore the thoughts and feelings you have regarding things or situations; and when you do this, you can also transform or change your position(s), which brings about inner growth.

Position and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What does position mean to me?  What types of positions have I taken that stand out?  Why is my position in my job/industry important to me?  What makes me happy about my position?  How does taking a position in things affect my relationships?  How has a position affected my life?  When did I first think of position, in the sense of role and job for my future?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with position at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. Now think of a position you’ve had workwise and a position you’ve taken from a thought standpoint.  Write about both these situations using the list of words and notice what feelings they both share as life events that were important to you.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about position and let those emotions flow evenly throughout and if you notice any accumulations in certain areas of your body, just visualize a flowing river that smoothly runs its course. As you do this notice what types of thoughts on position come to mind, are they more about your job or position as in role or are they more about a position from an emotional and thought process stance?  Explore your feelings and when you’re done visualize what this means to you in one word.

Your turn – Share your position sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
