We’re back with Tina Florio discussing the events following her radioactive iodine treatment for her autoimmune disorder called Graves’ disease. If you don’t remember the events, or didn’t tune in or watch that episode, you’ll find the link below. However, we do revisit some of the pre-solution aspects in this conversation as well, just so you know.
Our conversation focuses on the expectations and disappointments that came after what was supposed to be the “solution” to all of Tina’s problems now that her Graves’ disease would come to pass, and that instead did not turn out to be so.
We expand on the emotional and mental struggle that take place with having so much information that shows how complex and amazing the body is, yet many doctors not being willing (or nice about it at times either) to work with the patient and the new information; as well as those who do work with the new and more expanded information being inaccessible in many ways.
The information on the resilience of our bodies is clear and out there, but the means for the “average person” to put it into practice with the support of a professional (the doctors and experts), not so much, unless you get lucky and/or have the means to afford it.
Lastly, we discuss the perseverance of Tina in using the knowledge that is available to her, to the best of her ability and her desire to share it with others, as well as trying to get the attention of doctors so that maybe a change can take place for the better for all.
