Inner Growth Word of the Day: Precise

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (adj.) 1. exactly or sharply defined or stated.  2. minutely exact.  3. strictly conforming to a pattern, standard, or convention.  4. distinguished from every other.

Precise in a sentence: How precise thoughts or actions play a role in your life and affect you, depend solely on you.

Precise in action: An exact action or when something is done in a specific way or moment, that is precise.

Precise and inner growth: A look at how being or not being precise plays a role in your life brings about inner growth due to the awareness you gain of what lies beneath the surface on why that aspect of preciseness is a part of you or not.  It allows you to find judgements, limits, or the opposite; things that you think and feel in those moments, that you can only uncover through such explorations.

Precise and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What does it mean to me to be precise? What areas in my life have I been precise with in how I’ve approached them?  Why is being precise something that I explore?  Do I consider myself precise naturally or is it something I impose on myself?  How has having precise moments affected my life?  Why do I think being precise holds its value?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with precise at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. From this list think of how being precise has helped you with something important in your life. Write about this event and how you felt throughout it, what you learned most, and so on; and use the words from your list to write about it.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about being precise and notice where they start off, where they settle, and how they flow. As you keep your attention on those feelings, take note of what thoughts cross your mind and how your emotions change depending on the thought.
