Inner Growth Word of the Day: Freedom
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1. the quality or state of being free. 1 a. the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action.
Freedom in a sentence: Freedom is a very important part of a person’s life and the events that can take place in their chosen life.
Freedom in action: When you have choices to make and actions you can take that is freedom.
Freedom and inner growth: Exploring how freedom plays a role in your life and your feelings about it brings you to understand how you feel about the society and world that surrounds you. As you ponder these aspects you pursue inner growth thanks to the gained knowledge and actions you can take.
Freedom and inner growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: What do I think about freedom? How has freedom affected my life? When was the first time I thought about freedom? Why is freedom important to me? How does freedom play a role in my relationships? Do I think freedom is a part of everybody’s life? How much freedom do I feel I have?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with freedom at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. From this list pick three words that stand out the most and write about why they stand out, what’s so significant about them.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings about freedom and allow them to flow freely without thinking about much, just feeling the emotions that run through your body. Notice where your emotions seem to start from and if they tend to settle in one or more areas of your body. As you do this visualize a flowing river and allow the feelings that seem to sit in specific places to flow down this river.
