Inner Growth Word of the Day: In-depth

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (adj.) comprehensive, thorough.

In-depth in a sentence: When going in-depth about anything you can’t help but uncover the essence and entirety of that “something” you’re exploring.

In-depth in action: When people have a thorough look at something or someone that is going in-depth.

In-depth and inner growth:  An in-depth exploration of anything brings about inner growth since going deep below the surface and through the different layers that are a part of something or someone is enlightening, as well as ongoing.  Through this thorough look there are bound to be notions acquired, transformations in the works, and personal insights that weren’t so easily seen when looking on the surface.

In-depth and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: How in-depth do you go when exploring yourself? What does in-depth mean to me?  How does in-depth analysis affect my life?  What role has in-depth thinking had on my relationships?  Why is being in-depth a part of my journey in life?  What would I change about the process of going in-depth on a topic?  When did I first think about the notion of in-depth thinking?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with in-depth at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. From this list think of three situations where being in-depth played a major role in the outcome.  Pick one of these three situations to write about and use the words from your initial list to write about the situation.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about in-depth and let them flow. Notice where they initiate and where they go.  Do you flow calmly and evenly and if not, visualize a peaceful river flowing around you so that you can give a calm input to your emotional flow as well.  When you’re ready allow thoughts to come in and focus on the one thought that stands out the most.
