Inner Growth Word of The Day 105 – Balance

April 15

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Balance

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 9. mental and emotional steadiness.

Balance in a sentence: You find balance when you decide to work towards reaching internal equilibrium through your actions.

Balance in action: When you achieve a certain level of equilibrium within yourself, you’ve acquired balance.

Balance and inner growth: Balance is one of the things you can achieve through inner growth and it also furthers inner growth because you pursue internal exploration of different areas that you wish to bring equilibrium to in your search for balance.

Balance and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What do I think about balance? How has balance affected my life.  What have I learned from pursuing balance?  When did I start looking for balance?  Are there only certain areas I’ve achieved balance in?  What have I learned about my relationships through my search for balance?  Does anything or anyone affect my balance?  If so, how and why?  What’s important about balance for me?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with balance at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. Pick a couple or more words that stand out to you.  Write next to each word, what makes it stand out.  Now pick one of the words and write about how it plays a role in your search for balance.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about balance and focus on the initial feeling that came about. Keep the thoughts out for five minutes or so and stay focused on allowing that initial feeling to spread throughout you.  When you’re ready, let thoughts come by and focus on the first thought that brings you a sense of peace.  Allow yourself to feel it fully and when you’re done, move on to the next thought and feeling, and do the same thing.

Your turn – Share your balance sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
