Inner Growth Word of the Day: Life

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1 a. the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body. 1 b. a principle or force that is considered to underlie the distinctive quality of animate beings. 2 a. the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual.

Life in a sentence: In the absence of death there is life.

Life in action: To breath, to walk, to talk, to grow; all of these comprise life.

Life and inner growth: When it comes to life, the importance you attribute it brings about a series of questions that inevitably lead you to decisions on where you want to go with inner growth.

Life and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What does it mean to me to have life? Do I contemplate it?  If so, what crosses my mind when I do?  Do I rejoice in life?  Do I differentiate between the word life and existence or do they mean the same for me?  Can I imagine that anybody would want the absence of life?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with life at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. Now list a series of life experiences that you consider the representation of what life means to you.  What stands out as something important to you related to your thoughts about life?

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about life and notice if there are any thoughts that lift you up more and more as you associate them to the idea you have on life. Any feelings that lower your energy jot down and come back to when you’re ready to understand what those feelings are all about.
