Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Knowing Who You Are From The Heart
Knowing who you are from the heart can be a bit confusing as your heart receives a lot of external inputs (society’s opinions, family judgements, etc.) that veil it from your consciousness. Therefore, being aware of the deep answer to the question of who you are (that crosses everybody’s mind from time to time) is not as straightforward as you’d think.
Thanks to an inner growth journey you start peeling away at the veil that has been set up by the external you live in and through this gained knowledge you start hearing the difference between what you think about who you are and what you feel from the heart about who you are.
This process requires the time for you to get to know your inner core’s voice and then be able to differentiate what it’s telling you versus what you’ve been told by the external. Here are some ways to tap into this so that you can know who you are from the heart.
- Every morning take five minutes to think about three things related to who you are and pay attention to how you feel when you think each thing. Explore your feelings to find out what message they hold for those things you identify as being a part of who you are.
- Pick one word every year to describe who you are from the heart. Do this at the beginning of the year and then review it at the end of the year to see how what you described matched or didn’t match how you lived out the year.
- Any time you feel your heart in perfect synergy with you (something you say, do or think, etc.), make a note of this feeling and two to three characteristics that are what brought about this perfect synergetic (awe) feeling.
Your turn – Share your inner growth thought of the day, a sentence, life examples, or action steps you take with new beginnings 😊
