Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Time Is Your Friend When Breaking Bad Habits
Deciding to break bad habits, those habits that stifle your growth, requires a choice and the perseverance to obtain the new habit desired that can help you express and be more of you, as well as continued belief that this is obtainable (that your efforts will go somewhere).
Luckily, time is your friend in these moments and it allows you to pursue any path you choose as you look for different things to explore, contemplate and completely let go of from within and through your actions in order to break limiting habits that keep you from expressing your highest potential, the essence of you from the heart.
Here are some ways to keep in mind that time is your friend, and to work with this friend, to break any bad habit that keeps you from being where you want to be in life.
- When you notice yourself getting on your case for repeating habits you are working on and trying to stop, take five minutes to appreciate time and look back at two things time gives you every time you’ve face a challenge.
- Make a list of two to three habits you want to break and next to each list how time has already helped you in some way. Keep in mind how far you’ve come already in those moments where you feel like you’re not where you want to be yet.
- Once a year make it a habit to thank your “bad” habits for the awakening they give you to you and look to two or three “bad” habits that transformed thanks to time giving you the chance to work through them completely. Also, take notice of the major inner self knowledge you gained thanks to working through these “bad” habits.
