Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Dealing With Being Different
Being different is one of those feelings and/or experiences that makes you think, a lot. You think about what makes you different or why you feel different, you also contemplate what this means to you and what you want to do about it moving forward. However, getting to the deeper parts of dealing with being different opens up a whole other array of questions and self-exploration, in-depth exploration.
Finding out the insecurities and doubts that keep you from fully embracing your being different is the discoveries you make as you pursue your inner growth journey. Through a heart-based exploration you find out whether your self-belief and self-love are enough to keep you on your heart’s path or if being considered different because of this is something that will keep you doubting yourself and inner compass.
Here are some ideas on how to deal with being different so that you can uncover your deepest answers and find what works for you.
- Make a list of the attributes others have defined as “being different” and next to each write one word that expresses how you feel about this (the comment that the attribute makes you different).
- List all the attributes you consider make you different and not because others said so, but because your heart feels it. Next to each attribute write one word about how this makes you feel.
- For each attribute you listed imagine your life in the absence of that attribute. How would that change your life? How would that change you and how you feel about yourself, and why?
