Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Facing Your Demons
There are many things that play a part of working with yourself while getting through a moment when you’re dealing with facing your demons. If you see the demon as something you don’t want, an enemy, or something “bad”; this brings in a lot more weight to the situation; which doesn’t help you gain insights from that life experience (nor are you looking for how to overcome the demon by finding your solution or resolving a hidden insecurity).
If on the other hand, you’re able to see your demons as things that make you uncomfortable or contrast with you as a person, but that you can gain insights from (insights on your inner-self); then with this thought process you’ll be able to lift the weight in that moment; which then gives you the opportunity to repeat facing your demon(s) until you’ve resolved it by overcoming the hidden situation that was causing the demon in the first place.
Some inner growth mindset tips that can help you in those moments when you’re facing your demons.
- Write about when and why this demon first appeared and what you can already see as the main uncomfortable points about it. Then write about how you envision being able to work with yourself to find a complete resolution to those points of discomfort.
- List the demons you’ve overcome from your past so that you may look to them when you’re facing new demons to see what you can apply from past moments to the new ones.
- Every time you overcome a demon write what you learned about yourself and what insecurity, fear, doubt or other inner-self quarry you resolved.
