Inner Growth Thought of the Day: That Feeling Of Disbelief
Your feelings can tell you a lot about your insecurities, wishes and desires. They can also lead you to aha moments and steps forward in the things you want to achieve; and when it comes to that feeling of disbelief, these are definitely some of the things you will gain from being in the moment, appreciating it and contemplating it.
That feeling of disbelief brings you to acknowledge the results achieved from efforts made to arrive at a goal or conclusion in a project or something you’re actively doing or want in life. In that moment of disbelief, feelings of hope, surprise, and gratefulness are a part of what’s going on and it is in those feelings that you can gain those inner growth messages.
Here are some ways to explore that feeling of disbelief and ponder why feeling that you are deserving is something you should be ok with and if you’re not, why not.
- When overwhelmed by a feeling of disbelief write down what’s so surprising for you about the situation. Next to each thing you list, write why you are ready for that thing or situation to take place.
- Once a week, list one of life’s moments that brought about a huge feeling of disbelief and write about what made it so unbelievable.
- Every time you get that feeling of disbelief take a moment to appreciate the emotions you’re sensing by describing them to yourself and then visualizing an image of what that looks like to you (it can be a panoramic view, a sunset, a beach house, whatever image comes to mind).
