Inner Growth Word of the Day: Family
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1 a. the basic unit in society traditionally consisting of two parents rearing their children; also, any of various social units differing from but regarded as equivalent to the traditional family. 4 a. a group of people united by certain convictions or a common affiliation.
Family in a sentence: The foundation to how you see life and love, and the actions you take to pursue inner growth starts with your family.
Family in action: Your parents, siblings and relatives, as well as friends that are a part of your social unit are family.
Family and inner growth: A look at how your family plays a role in your inner growth journey helps you to uncover hidden meanings behind some of the things you do and believe, which consequently enables you to approach them with full awareness.
Family and inner growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: How important is my family to me? What have I learned about my inner growth journey through my family? In what ways does my family affect my day-to-day life? What life lessons have I learned from my family? How has my family affected my relationships? What role does my family have in my choices?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with family at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. With the words from your list write about each family member that has an impact on your inner growth journey.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings about family and take note of what thoughts come to mind as your emotions arise, also pay attention to where those feelings seem to be more present. Next focus on one of the thoughts that come to mind at a time and allow the emotion from that thought to flow.
