Inner Growth Word of the Day: Escape
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (v.) 1 a. to get away. 2. to get or stay out of the way of.
Escape in a sentence: To escape something can be anything from an unwanted conversation to an undesirable situation; both require contemplation and actions that bring you to explore what you want.
Escape in action: Succeeding in staying out of a conversation is to escape it.
Escape and inner growth: The things you want to escape bring you to consider the things you don’t want, which bring about inner growth as you take actions to do something about it.
Escape and inner growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: When did I first escape something in life? What was that something? How often am I faced with the desire to escape a topic of conversation? Why do I want to escape these types of conversations? How does it come to mind to escape a thought? What are some of the life lessons I use in moments where I want to escape?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with escape at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. From this list think of one important moment where escape was all that you could think of and use the words to write about this event and what you learned from it.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings about escape and keep your heart in the forefront noticing what specific types of thoughts come to mind as you do this. When you’re ready allow one thought at a time to direct your feelings and pay attention to the flow of those emotions. Anything that wants to stick around, contemplate and then visualize flowing away from you.
