Inner Growth Word of The Day 353 – Eliminate

December 19

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Eliminate

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (v.) 1 a. to put an end to or get rid of.

Eliminate in a sentence: The things you eliminate from your life will still have served their purpose and remain a part of you even though no longer actively a part of your day to day.

Eliminate in action: When you decide to rid yourself of something, to remove it from your life, that is to eliminate.

Eliminate and inner growth: When you take a closer look at the things you eliminate from your life you pursue inner growth as you uncover why you chose to eliminate them and what things happen as you move forward without those things in your life.

Eliminate and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: When did I first eliminate something from my life? What was it?  How does it affect me to eliminate something from my day to day?  What do I typically look to eliminate?  How has it affected my relationships to eliminate something?  How do the things I eliminate still play a role in me?  Do I ever reconsider something I chose to eliminate?  And if so, what do I do following my reconsidering the choice I made?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with eliminate at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. Now think of three things that you chose to eliminate in your life and write about each using some of the words from your list.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about when you eliminate something and notice where your emotions arise, how they flow, and what thoughts come to mind. The things that provoke a bigger emotional response are the things you want to focus on and notice the flow of those feelings within you.  If anything settles in places, visualize them deeply, look to understand them, and then send them down the river to flow away from you.
