Inner Growth Word of The Day 322 – Danger

November 18

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Danger

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 3. exposure or liability to injury, pain, harm, or loss.

Danger in a sentence: Danger is mostly never welcome, but if it happens to cross one’s path it will always leave a lesson.

Danger in action: When you’re in harms way that means you are in danger.

Danger and inner growth: The topic of danger can bring about inner growth in various ways, starting with exploring how you work through emotions about danger to seeing what takeaways you can apply in your life if faced with situations that involve aspects of danger, to looking at how you do your best to stay out of any type of danger.

Danger and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: When did I first find out about danger? How do I define danger?  Who has helped me deal with danger?  Who has helped me understand danger?  And in what ways did they help me? What is my biggest takeaway from danger?  Why do I think danger exists?  How does danger affect my view of the world?  How does danger affect me on a personal and societal level?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with danger at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. Next think of what danger means to you and how you work through it to keep your balance as you go through life.  Write about this using the words from your list.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about danger and what it means to you. As you think through its meaning, notice what emotions are most obvious, persistent, and how they flow.  You want to visualize a place that works with any feelings that aren’t flowing; so as you focus on this topic, also visualize a place that brings you calm and in this place include a stream of water that flows out to the endless ocean.  This stream of water is what you want to focus on when you notice emotions in your body that aren’t flowing, send them down the stream and out into the ocean, away from you.
