Inner Growth Word of the Day: Enduring

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (adj.) lasting, durable.

Enduring in a sentence: Anything that is enduring is a part of you and your life forever.

Enduring in action: If something is persistent in time and continues to last within your life, that is enduring.

Enduring and inner growth: Whether it’s a feeling or a something or a someone, when you explore those enduring things in your life you gain inner growth through the exploration of these things, their significance to you, the feelings they arise, and the choice of what to keep at or what to transform.

Enduring and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: How does something enduring affect me? What have I learned about life from those parts of me that are enduring?  When did I first notice that something was enduring?  When it comes to enduring feelings, which one stands out the most?  How do I define enduring?  What does something enduring look like to me?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with enduring at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. From this list pick one thing that you want to write about because of how it makes you feel.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about enduring things and feelings; and as you do this allow the silence around you to be a part of those feelings that are arising. Focus on the emotions and where they flow to, and when you’re ready, let thoughts come to mind and notice what is the first thing that pops up.  Focus on the feelings that arise from that one thought.
