Inner Growth Word of the Day: Connection
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1. the act of connecting. 3. a person connected with another especially by marriage, kinship, or common interest.
Connection in a sentence: A connection with someone or something can happen in many ways and can be accompanied by numerous emotions.
Connection in action: When there is a bond between two people, that is a connection.
Connection and inner growth: A look at your connections and how you uncover these connections, as well as the depths of the connections are all ways that bring to inner growth as you get to know how you recognize connection and what is a part of that connection.
Connection and inner growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: How does a connection with someone affect me? When did I first notice connection between me and something or someone? Why is connection important to me? What does it mean to me to have a connection? How has connection affected my life? What have I learned from my connections?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with connection at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. Now think of something you feel a great connection with and also someone you feel that way about. Write about both using the words from your list and notice the similarities and differences between the two.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings about when you have a strong connection with someone or something and let your emotions flow. See how they flow, where they begin and where they go. If they seem to settle in different places move them along by visualizing a flowing river and when you are ready, let thoughts come in. Take note of what situations come to mind and how they change your feelings as you think about them.
