Inner Growth Word of the Day: Energy
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1 a. dynamic quality. 1 b. the capacity of acting or being active. 1 c. a usually positive spiritual force.
Energy in a sentence: The energy you put into things depends on the level of interest you have in those things.
Energy in action: The effort and action you put into things is energy.
Energy and inner growth: A look at how much energy you put into the things you do and/or where energy is lacking brings inner growth since it gets you to think about why you put energy into some things and not others and what brings about that energy.
Energy and inner growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: What does it mean to me to put energy into the things I do? How has energy affected my life? When did I first acknowledge the energy I put forth in my life and the things I do? What have I learned about life through the energy I put forth in life? How does energy affect my day to day? Why does my energy rise or lower in certain circumstances?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with energy at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. From this list think of two things you do, one that you put a lot of energy into and the other that you lack energy. Write about the two with the words from your list and notice the similarities and differences between the two.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings about energy and notice where they arise, how they flow, and what thoughts come to mind as you focus on the energy you have regarding your life and the things you do. As you do this take note of how your emotions change and if there is also a change in where they seem to stem from and go throughout your body. When you’re ready look for the constants in the feelings you are experiencing.
