Inner Growth Word of The Day 264 – Path

September 21

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Path

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 3 a. course, route.  3 b. a way of life, conduct, or thought.

Path in a sentence: The path you choose can change along the way.

Path in action: When you pick a specific route to take for your life or on a trip, that is a path.

Path and inner growth: The path you choose for each circumstance that takes place in your life has hidden lessons about your inner desires, hopes and fears and when you explore each you pursue inner growth as you bring everything to the surface and become aware of it, as well as choose what to do next and how that will affect your path moving forward.

Path and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What does my path look like to me? Where is my path leading me when it comes to my relationships?  How does my path affect my job?  How does my path affect my life?  What role does my family play in the path I’ve chosen for myself long term?  When was the first time I thought about the path I wanted to take for my career?  How have I changed my path along the course of my life so far?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with path at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. From this list think of two different paths you have chosen along the course of your life that have impacted you greatly.  Write about both and use the words from your list to describe how each makes you feel.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about path and notice what first emotion comes about, as well as what specific path comes to mind. Remove your focus from these two things and refocus on path noticing if there’s a change in what feelings arise.  Now settle in as you sit in silence and visualize your feelings moving across your body like a flowing river.  When you’re ready allow thoughts to come in and see what other thoughts come to mind.

Your turn – Share your path sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
