August 8

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Thorough

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (adj.) 1. carried through to completion.   2 a. marked by full detail.  2 b. careful about detail.  2 c. complete in all respects.

Thorough in a sentence: When you are thorough about the things you do, the way you feel, and the components to your life and person; your inner growth journey is always present.

Thorough in action: Diving in to a reason for making that decision or maybe looking through your feelings for a specific person are both thorough.

Thorough and inner growth: Inner growth involves being thorough, which is why you most likely are thorough in all you do as you pursue inner growth.  It is automatic for you and as you live your day to day with thorough thinking, you will see an endless number of learning lessons as you experience life.

Thorough and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What does it mean to me to be thorough? How is thorough thinking helping me along my inner growth journey?  When did I first think about being thorough with things that are a part of me?  How has my thorough mindset affected my relationships?  When did I start being thorough about things?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with thorough at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. From this list pick one word that connects to an area of your personality that you’ve been so thorough with that you’re done exploring it for now.  Use the rest of the words from the list to write about this characteristic and the story behind your thorough look at it.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about thorough and allow it to flow throughout your body. As you do this notice where your emotions start and where they go.  Visualize a flowing river to ensure your feelings are evenly distributed in you and when you’re ready allow thoughts to come in and take note of what thoughts come to mind first.

Your turn – Share your thorough sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
