Inner Growth Word of the Day: Constant
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) something invariable or unchanging.
Constant in a sentence: Something constant in your life can be anything from your beliefs to your loved ones to your behavior; all are just as important along your life’s journey.
Constant in action: When something or someone is continually present in your life that is a constant.
Constant and inner growth: By exploring your constants you find that which you believe in profoundly to those around you who are continuously present in your life. As you acknowledge this you also look to deepen the awareness of your beliefs and deepen the relationships that you cherish. In doing this you pursue inner growth.
Constant and inner growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: What do I consider a constant? When did I first acknowledge that which is constant in my life? How have the constants in my life affected me on a personal level? What types of changes have the constants in my life brought to my relationships? Why is having a constant mindset on some things important to me? Has my list of constants changed throughout the years and if so, how?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with constant at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. From this list pick three words that stand out the most and from these three words pick the one that causes the biggest emotional response within you. Now write about that word and emotion using the rest of the words from your first list.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings about constant and allow those emotions to flow. Notice if they come from specific areas of your body and where they go. As you do this visualize a flowing river so that those emotions spread throughout you evenly and calmly. When you’re ready, allow thoughts to come in and focus on the one life event that stands out the most to you. Explore through your feelings why this event is so important.
