Inner Growth Word of The Day 188 – Imperfection

July 7

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Imperfection

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) the quality or state of being imperfect (fault, flaw, not perfect).

Imperfection in a sentence: When a flaw is present, whether a character trait or a physical characteristic, it is in the eye of the beholder if that trait or thing constitutes imperfection or not.

Imperfection in action: Something that constitutes a flaw in a thing or person is an imperfection.

Imperfection and inner growth: Imperfections are something that bring about inner growth when you explore them and accept them as part of you or do something to change them because that is what you want.

Imperfection and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What constitutes an imperfection to me? How have my imperfections affected me?  When was the first time I thought about imperfections?  How have imperfections affected my relationships?  Why did I start exploring my imperfections and how did this change my life?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with imperfection at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. From this list pick one word that reminds you of an important imperfection for you.  Use the rest of the words to write about this imperfection and why it’s so important.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about imperfection and allow them to flow freely. Notice if they settle in one place more than another and redirect that energy evenly throughout your body as you sense these things.  When you’re ready allow your thoughts to come in and focus on the feelings that come from the first thought that came to mind.  Then let your emotions continue the conversation.
