Inner Growth Word of The Day 47 – Loss

February 16

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Loss

Google’s Dictionary/Search definition: (n.) 1. the fact or process of losing something or someone.  3. the state or feeling of grief when deprived of someone or something of value.

Loss in a sentence: Loss is something that affects everyone differently, but at the same time it can cause similar feelings.

Loss in action: When you move out of your first home, it will always feel like you’ve lost a part of you.

Loss and inner growth: Loss upsets us and when that happens there’s room to look deeper, which can bring about inner growth as you explore these areas within you.

Loss and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: How do I feel about loss? What have I done in situations of loss?  How has loss affected my life?  Have I affected how I react to loss?  Am I creating any feelings of loss?  How do my emotions affect loss and vice versa?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with loss at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. Next make a list of words of the feelings that you associate to loss.  Now identify what words between the two lists seem to go together.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about loss and allow them to flow. As this is going on, make note of things that stand out for you as you are allowing the feeling to express itself.  If you notice a pattern, what is it and what does it say about you to you?

Your turn – Share your loss sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
