Inner Growth Word of the Day: Positivity

Google’s Dictionary/Search definition: (n.) 1. the practice of being or tendency to be positive or optimistic in attitude.

Positivity in a sentence: When you have positivity on your side, everything looks brighter.

Positivity in action: People who tend to see the glass half full are considered to be full of positivity.

Positivity and inner growth: Positivity helps you to be more at ease when the unexpected comes your way; making learning lessons visible and easier to take in.  You can also look to inner growth through an internal exploration of your positivity that may be greater in certain circumstances versus others.

Positivity and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: How do I feel about positivity? How has positivity affected my life?  Are there any areas of my life where positivity is less present?  Is there someone who affects my positivity?  What do I think my life would be like without positivity?  Is positivity something that comes easily to me?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with positivity at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. Put next to each word you listed a life event that comes to mind with the word.  Next pick one trait or event that you have a harder time putting a positive spin to and turn it around by including positivity.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about positivity and allow those feelings to flow. As this is taking place notice if any specific people and/or events come to mind.  Make a note of these and see if you notice a pattern in what affects your positivity.
