Inner Growth Word of The Day 21 – Objective

January 21

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Objective definition: (n.) 1. something that one’s efforts or actions are intended to attain or accomplish; purpose; goal; target.

Objective in a sentence: When you really want to do something, you make it an objective.

Objective in action: It isn’t always easy to accomplish something, but by creating an objective you decide that you’re going to give it all to reach your goal.

Objective and inner growth: Our objectives can help us understand, as well as explore the things we hold dear to our heart that we’d like to achieve or that we may think we need to accomplish in order to get to a specific place that we’ve set or think in our mind is good.

Objective and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What has been one of the most important objectives I’ve set for myself so far? Why was it so important for me to obtain this goal?  How did it make me feel when I obtained the objective?  Do those feelings persist today when I think of this objective or has something changed?  If so what’s changed and why?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with objective at the center and then list or put around it all (or as many as you want) of the objectives you’ve set for yourself up to today (starting from the first one you can recall). Then make a list of the objectives you’ve attained and the ones that are still in the works.  Next write a short story as if you’d obtained all those objectives that are still in the works.  Is there something that stands out from the story?  If so, what?

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about setting or having an objective. Notice what those feelings are saying about how you view objectives in general, then redirect your attention to one objective that makes you happy and another that brings about mixed feelings.  Don’t judge the feelings, just let them flow and see what questions and answers come to mind if thoughts start forming as you’re feeling the feelings and thinking of objectives.

Your turn – Share your objective sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
