Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Dealing With Overwhelming Emotions

When you’re dealing with overwhelming emotions and feelings it’s never that simple to work through it in a way that lifts the weight that comes with being overwhelmed. As you embark on a journey that brings you within though, things take a different turn.

 

Through inner growth you gain knowledge of you and that means becoming aware of your inner you; all the emotions and thoughts, insecurities, and fears from the heart, your unconscious, and just recognizing the overwhelming feelings that come about for different things and reasons.  Thanks to the knowledge you gain you remove the overwhelming emotions that come from the unknown component (why am I feeling this way), bringing you to a level of self-consciousness that gives you the power to choose a different way as you work to release the fear, insecurity, doubt, and so on.

 

Here are some ways to work through overwhelming emotions thanks to inner growth.

 

  1. Any time you feel overwhelmed take five minutes to think or write out all of what comes to mind to why you’re feeling this way. Then take another five minutes to explore these reasons from the heart and pinpoint what concern, fear, insecurity, or other uneasy attribute is a part of the situation you’re facing (thinking about).

 

  1. Every time you are experiencing overwhelming emotions bring to mind one to two situations where feelings of comfort and sense of security arise. Do this for five minutes or so and then contemplate your next steps for dealing with whatever situation brought about the overwhelming emotions.

 

  1. At the end of a year, take a look back at how dealing with overwhelming emotions through an inner growth mindset and way helped you transform and learn from these moments.
