Part of the journey of life includes affirming your individuality and identity. This happens in different ways, for different reasons, at different times, and so on. Once consciousness of this act, this affirming of you, is brought to your attention thanks to your inner growth pursuits and explorations, you have the opportunity to see how your choices sync with your inner core or not.

Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Affirming Your Individuality & Identity

Part of the journey of life includes affirming your individuality and identity. This happens in different ways, for different reasons, at different times, and so on.

 

Once consciousness of this act, this affirming of you, is brought to your attention thanks to your inner growth pursuits and explorations, you have the opportunity to see how your choices sync with your inner core or not.

 

Here are some ways to explore from your inner core (heart) the identity and individuality you hold today and the one you want to affirm and hold tomorrow.

 

 

  1. Write out a timeline of the moments in your life where you claimed your identity through actions, groups, events, words, and so on. For each affirming identity you include on your timeline list next to each if today this is still a part of your individuality and what feelings arise from your heart about this.  Anything that stands out as not in sync with your inner core you want to dig deeper to uncover what’s keeping it a part of your life.

 

  1. When you notice an identity that you claim a part of you, but that doesn’t resonate with your inner core make a list of one to two ways you’re going to let go of it.

 

  1. Pick one word and feeling to express your inner core’s (heart’s) individuality and identity and make it a habit to remind yourself of this word and feeling every day, as well as include it in your day-to-day actions (words, thoughts, goals, etc.).
