When faced with disappointment, there are many ways you can go about handling it and for someone on an inner growth journey this means looking within to uncover those hidden messages first and then deciding on your next steps.
As you pursue learning more about you and staying open to the lessons life shares with you, you realize that disappointment begins with your personal expectations of people and the desires you hold for the circumstances you’re experiencing. Once you bring these aspects to consciousness, you are able to stay open and effective in deciding on your next steps, while also sharing love and compassion with others involved.
Here are some ways to deal with disappointment with inner growth in the forefront.
- Any time you feel disappointed in someone or something, list two to five ways you can understand why that someone did what they did or that something happened the way it did.
- Define the feelings you get when disappointment happens and for each feeling you list, put down how your expectations play a role in how you feel.
- Take a look every year at those moments of disappointment you went through and list what you learned about yourself from those experiences, as well as how you continue to share love and understanding to others.
