Inner Growth Word of The Day 299 – Certainty

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Certainty

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1. something that is certain. 2. the quality or state of being certain especially on the basis of evidence.

Certainty in a sentence: If there’s one thing that can give you certainty in life, it is you and your inner-self.

Certainty in action: When something is a sure thing; that is certainty.

Certainty and inner growth: Exploring how you feel about certainty and how it affects your life brings about inner growth because it enables you to bring to the surface those things you want to have certainty in, which consequently uncovers the areas where uncertainty is present (otherwise there would be no need for certainty).

Certainty and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What do I think about certainty? Do I search for certainty?  How do I find my certainty?  Why is certainty important to me and when?  Does it change how I feel about certainty depending on the situation?  When did I first want to have certainty?  How has certainty affected my life?  How has certainty affected my relationships?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with certainty at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. From this list what two or three experiences come to mind where you had to deal with certainty.  Write about the experience that affected you the most.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about certainty and notice where they start off and where they go or if they settle in certain spots throughout you. As you pay attention to this movement of emotions within, think of times where you had certainty and notice if your feelings change, how they change in where they go and how they feel.
