Inner Growth Word of The Day 192 – Care

July 11

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Care

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 4. regard coming from desire or esteem.

Care in a sentence: When you care for something or someone it shows in the attention you give and in how you speak about them.

Care in action: An action that involves another’s need or desire, or something that serves the benefit of another (whether thing or person) is what care can look like.

Care and inner growth: Exploring the things and people you care for, how you care for them, how you know (identify) you care, are all ways you can uncover what you hold on to dearly.  Through this awareness you can also explore why you hold on to these things and people, and in doing so pursue inner growth with the changes that could come in why and what you care for.

Care and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What does it mean to me to care? If care had a face, what would it look like?  When did I first notice I cared for someone or something and what gave it away?  How has the way I care affected my relationships?  How has care influenced my life?  What have I learned about others through the moments where I cared?  What’s one of the most important things about care to me?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with care at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. Now write down three instances where care was involved in life.  Pick one of these events and write about it in detail with the words from your first list.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about care and let them flow without thinking much about anything. Notice where your emotions go and which ones are strongest.  As you settle in, allow thoughts to come to mind with the stronger feelings in the forefront and then focus on one of those thoughts at a time to see what else you uncover through the emotions that come to be.

Your turn – Share your care sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
