Inner Growth Word of the Day: Possible

 

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (adj.) 1 a. being within the limits of ability, capacity, or realization.  2 a. being something that may or may not occur.  2 b. being something that may or may not be true or actual.

 

Possible in a sentence: What is possible and what isn’t, varies depending on your mindset.

 

Possible in action: When you do something that is within your scope of abilities or when you believe something could be or not be, that is ‘possible’.

 

Possible and inner growth:  A closer look at what is possible for you also gives you insights into what you don’t believe is possible for you.  Bringing forth those areas you see as limits, gets you to dig deep and understand those limits, as well as take action to accept or remove those limits.  This in turn leads to inner growth since you’re not only acknowledging your possible mindset, but you’re also seeing what you want to do about those areas you don’t believe are possible.

 

Possible and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: How do I feel about what is possible? What is my mindset around what is possible for me?  How has my idea of what is possible affected my life?  What types of changes have I made due to my idea of what is or isn’t possible?  Have my relationships been affected by my possible mindset?  If so, how?  Is there anything I would change about what I believe is possible in life?

 

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with possible at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. Now make a second list of three things you believe are possible for you and three things that are not possible.  Use the words from your first list to describe each possible and not possible item.  From what you wrote see if there’s anything that stands out and brings together your possible and impossible items.

 

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about possible and allow them to flow without thinking much, just your emotions and you. As you let those emotions do the talking, accompany your time with a sweet tune or something that lights up your heart.  When you’re ready, let thoughts come to mind too and explore whatever comes to mind first, always by letting your feelings do the talking first.
