Inner Growth Word of The Day 108 – Input

April 18

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Input

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1 e. advice, opinion, comment.

Input in a sentence: Input holds value when it’s been asked for by the receiver (of that input).

Input in action: When you ask for someone’s opinion or if you’ve been asked for advice by someone, you are sharing an input.

Input and inner growth: In exploring the input you give yourself or ask others for, you gain insight on the things you are looking to learn more about or transform in yourself and/or your life.  A look at each area assists in inner growth because it brings you to applying that input you’re giving yourself or others are giving you.

Input and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What type of input do I give myself and what type of input do I ask others for? Is there a difference in the input I look for when I’m talking to others?  What areas of my life do I look to gain more input in?  What are some of my biggest input takeaways when it comes to myself?  Is there an area that I’ve never looked for input on?  If so, why is that?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with input at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. With the list of words write about two instances of input that helped you with making a self-wanted transformation.  One of the instances is input you gave yourself, the other instance is input given to you by someone else.  From these two instances are there differences in how the input played out with your life?  Is the advice you gave yourself or were given by someone else something that has become a permanent in you today?

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about input and allow that initial spark to spread throughout you without actively thinking much, just sensing the emotions as a river flowing throughout your body. After about five minutes let thoughts come in and focus on the very first thought that crosses your mind about input and allow the feeling it brings about to tell you more about this thought.

Your turn – Share your input sentence, life examples, and inner growth action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
