Inner Growth Word of The Day 102 – Good

April 12

Inner Growth Word of the Day: Good

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (adj.) 1 a1. of a favorable character or tendency.

Good in a sentence: Anything that comes into your life can have an element of good, it all depends what you’re focusing on.

Good in action: When someone or something is favorable or positive in what it brings my way, it means it’s good.

Good and inner growth: A look at the good that’s in your life helps you to acknowledge the good that is in you and around you.  This leads to an awareness of the character traits that you can appreciate within you, expand on, and change too if you like.  Exploring the good in your life also brings you to appreciate the people and things that are a part of your life, which leads to contemplation and inner growth too.

Good and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What’s my definition of good? How has good changed my life?  What have I learned from the good that’s come into my life?  What learning lessons have I acquired from the good that’s crossed my path?  How do I apply good to others and to myself?  Are there different levels of good for me?  If so, what are they?  When I think of the word good, what’s the first thought or person that comes to mind?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with good at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. Next to each word write one good thing about you and one good thing about your life (a person or thing that is good).  Pick one to three of those word combinations and write out what makes them so special and why they’re the ones you chose out of your entire list.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about the good in your life and allow that first feeling to flow as far and for as long as you’d like. No thinking, just feeling.  When you’re ready, move on to other feelings that arise and allow your thoughts to take place too.  Whatever event or person that comes to mind, let the feeling they spark spread from head to toe.  When you’re done, notice if any feeling in particular stood out more than the others and stop to contemplate why you think that is.
