Inner Growth Word of the Day: Inner Growth
No dictionary definition: Even though not one word and with no set definition, when we look up “inner growth definition” different results come up that are centered around personal inner growth, self-completion, self-discipline, and “mental growth” of the mind (to name a few).
With that being said, one inner growth definition that I offer is the following:
- Inner growth is the pursuit of expanding one’s awareness of one’s self, bringing about self-discovery that can lead to self-completion and/or mental transformation to enjoy a fulfilling and happy life, one with a learning mindset that is always curious and looks at the world as a child who discovers something new every day.
Inner Growth in a sentence: Inner growth is something that happens over time, as one experiences life and actively seeks awareness of one’s self, as well as ways to reach a happy place within.
Inner Growth in action: Inner growth happens through the exploration of one’s self by means of questions, decisions, and steps that bring about desired transformation and/or expansion of one’s self.
Inner Growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: Is there something I want to understand about myself? Is there a characteristic that I have that I wish to change? If so, why? What does inner growth mean to me? Is it something I wish to pursue?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with inner growth at the center and then place around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. With those words write a short story describing inner growth as if it were playing out in real life.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings when thinking about inner growth. Explore your feelings, particularly the ones that make you uncomfortable. Feeling uneasy about something is a sign of something more and is where you want to start with your pursuit of inner growth.
Your turn – Share your inner growth definition, sentence, life examples, and action steps; and let me know if you’d like to see something added to our Inner Growth Word of The Day explorations 🙂
