Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Letting Go Of Inner Struggles Without Giving Up Your Opinions
Part of letting go of inner struggles is being able to arrive at harmony with acceptance of things outside of your control without having to negate your opinions or pursuits.
Inner growth allows you to let go of inner struggles without giving up your opinions because it brings you to go within (to your inner core) for guidance. As you find your answers you are faced with giving your inner self power or not. Through this conversation between you and you, you are able to make the choice between accepting what is outside of your control, while pursuing things in a way that can bring forth solutions and proactive steps or staying fossilized in the never-ending cycle of wanting social validation to tell you that your opinions and pursuits are valid.
Here are some ways to use an inner growth mindset to let go of inner struggles without giving up your opinions.
- As soon as you pick up on the fact that you’re going back and forth with a thought and that it is creating quite a bit of emotional turmoil take five minutes (when you get the chance in the day) to write out in a pros and cons list what exactly the struggle is about. From your list identify what inner core conflict is actually going on (what fear or insecurity, judgement or expectation, etc.) and choose one thing you are going to try and do to resolve the conflict, while also pursuing the situation in a way that rings true to your inner core’s (heart’s) voice.
- At the end of the year evaluate the most important inner struggle you had to deal with and write about how applying an inner growth mindset; so how going within and bringing neutrality to duality – meaning accepting what you have in front of you and working with it by working with you from your heart’s wisdom – helped release the struggle, without giving up your opinion.
- In three to five words define inner struggle and the feelings associate to it. For each pair of words, find two things you can do to bring about harmony to the struggle through your feelings, and list at least one new way (new approach or thought) you can try to let go of the inner struggle if it arises again. Do this once a month or any time you feel up to it.
