When you are on an inner growth journey everything you encounter adds to your person, life, and day-to-day.  This includes the way you handle selfish actions so that you can prevent them from holding you back.

As you apply inner growth questioning to moments where people act selfishly you uncover your inner core’s self-judgement on when you act selfishly or take from others, as well as your hurt from feeling unjustly accused by someone through their selfish actions of something. Understanding your inner self-judgements and opinions gives you the chance to bring neutrality to duality and love, compassion, understanding, and more; all of which, helps you to prevent the selfish act from holding you back.

Here are some ways to prevent selfish actions from holding you back thanks to applying an inner growth mindset to your exploration and way of experiencing the situation.

  1. Any time someone acts selfishly ask yourself three things this situation reveals to you about yourself (your self-judgement or insecurities, etc.) and three things you can do to bring to the moment a sense of neutrality.

  1. Once a year look back at one person in your life or one situation that seems to continuously act selfishly. Decide on two to three ways you’re going to create loving boundaries for yourself so that you may deal with the person/situation in a loving manner, without allowing the person/situation to take from you thanks to you speaking up/acting without feelings of guilt or a sense of obligation, and any self-inflicted pressure that arises from within you.

  1. Take the time to look at the selfish actions you’ve taken every month or at least once a year. Write about what stands out from those actions, what hurt is present, what are you trying to accomplish, why they take place, and how you will work to transform them into actions that hold unconditional love and that don’t take from you or anyone else.

Your turn – Share your inner growth thought of the day, a sentence, life examples, or action steps you take with new beginnings 😊
