Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Overcoming Fear Of Rejection
When dealing with the fear of rejection it isn’t always in your peripheral view (in your consciousness); sometimes it is also masked to us through actions that become a part of our day-to-day habits and that go unnoticed, until you look closer with inner growth in mind.
With a learning mindset towards your inner self and core, you bring to the surface and to your awareness these fears. This enables you to identify the habits, ask those tough questions, and also make decisions on how you plan on moving forward to reach that potential you want to in life.
Here are some ways to overcome fear of rejection, while pursuing inner growth.
- Once a year take ten to fifteen minutes to notice the things you didn’t do that you wanted to do in the year. Next to each item list why you didn’t do it, what stopped you from accomplishing this set goal. Pay attention to your answer for any hidden fear of rejection messages it may be sending your way.
- Think back at one or three things you know for certain you were afraid of being rejected about and explore: the hidden signs you had of how you felt; how you noticed that it was fear of rejection at play; and how you decided to make a change. Use this recollection for future situations where fear of rejection is at play; but is hiding from you.
- List two to five ways rejection is overcome by your mindset (personal vs societal definition, the power and weight you give it, the truth or not truth it is for you, etc.).
