Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Gain True Independence From Identification
If you’re going to gain true independence from identification you must first acquire full awareness and knowledge of those unconscious list of things you hold as identification marks/traits to who you are, what you are, and why.
As you pursue this endeavor and explore everything you uncover through an inner growth mindset, you make a conscious choice of what identification marks/traits you want to keep because they ring true to your core or because you are in agreement from your core of these set identification definitions by others.
Here are some ways to pursue true independence from identification with inner growth in mind.
- Twice a year, make a list of two to five identification marks/traits that you identify with and next to each one, write about how you came to identify with these marks/traits. Also write about if they ring true to your heart or not; and for those things that don’t ring true to your heart, explore why you still identify with them if they are not true to you.
- Define what identification means to you and what feelings it brings about. For each feeling you list, write next to it the most recent identification situation you found yourself in that brought about that feeling.
- Every day remind yourself that only you know what your heart holds; then, think of one loving intent you have for the day and put next to it (on paper or in thought) an identification mark/trait that represents you and your loving intent.
Your turn – Share your inner growth thought of the day, a sentence, life examples, or action steps you take with new beginnings 😊
