Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Feeling Like You Have Or Don’t Have Support
Feeling supported and not alone (particularly in emotionally challenging moments) is one of those situations everyone experiences from time to time.
In these moments, it is helpful to understand the human components involved (whether you’re the one supported or doing the supporting) so that you can gain insights of yourself when it’s you feeling alone or insights in the other person when you’re the one supporting.
Here are some ways to approach support situations while keeping inner growth in mind.
- Make a list of what support entails and next to each item write how you do this task for yourself or others when support is needed.
- Every year take a look back and write out at least one situation where you were supported by someone and one where you were the one supporting someone else.
- Take five minutes each day to be grateful for at least one person who has always been there for you.
