Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Getting Rid Of Distractions
The external inputs that distract us from our center not only take away from our focus, but they also take away our energy (the energy that fuels you and keeps you going). The external inputs that distract us from our center not only take away from our focus, but they also take away our energy (the energy that fuels you and keeps you going).
In an effort to stay centered and keep your energy focused in the areas and things you want to do and accomplish, you must look within (inside, that inner you that you perceive even though you can’t always put it into words).
Here are some ways to get rid of distractions so you can stay centered and focused on those heart-felt things that you want in your everyday life and your inner growth.
- When you find yourself in inner conflict over something that is outside of your control (you can’t change it), bring your attention to the things you can manage and take action on those. As you work on your solution, you will be able to move forward.
- Make a list of the things that happen throughout the week that you notice take energy from you, but essentially, no matter what you do, they repeat themselves. With that list handy, decide how best to use your energy in a way that doesn’t simply occupy your mind and time, but that instead provides you with actual solutions to the situations that are draining you.
- Every day take five minutes to decide where you want to focus your energy and why. As the goes by notice how feel about where your energy is going and if anything feels tiresome take a moment to reflect upon why that is and what you can do to change that.
Your turn – Share your inner growth thought of the day, a sentence, life examples, or action steps you take with new beginnings 😊
