Inner Growth Thought of the Day: Strength Without The Weight

There are different sayings we turn to in moments of challenges or just throughout the day-to-day, and one of these sayings, one that came to mind, is something around the lines of what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

 

This also made me think of the weight that sometimes comes with the strength we gain in those challenging moments; and how in those moments you have the opportunity to lighten the weight.Β  Once you become aware of the weight in the moment you can look to ways that work for you to have more of an uplifting strength, one that brings lightness with it as it fuels your energy to move forward.

 

Here are some ways you can work with removing the weight that is sometimes present in the strength you turn to when you need it.

 

  1. To gain awareness in a moment of high intensity you want to apply your focus towards awareness of your body. Pay attention to your shoulders, muscles, neck, and heart/chest area.

 

  1. When you focus and find weight is present in certain areas test different techniques that can help release that weight. Breathing and visualizing a safe place and/or comforting feeling come to mind.

 

  1. Make a mental list of moments where you are fueled by strength and practice those moments in your preferred state of being (how you want to feel in those moments).
