Inner Growth Thought of the Day: What You Trust Changes Things
The decisions we make on a day-to-day carry a certain level of thought, and therefore, a certain level of weight to them. What lifts this weight is the trust you have in things, in you, and/or in life. Trust is that feeling of lightness and knowledge that everything will work out; and each person has something they trust in. This doesn’t mean you always know what you trust at a level of full awareness so that you may use it to turn the decision-making process into something light and not heavy or combative in feeling.
To identify what you trust in, you want to explore the feeling of lightness and calm, that sense of security. What things and when does this take place? Can you identify a specific thing that always gives you that feeling, that you always trust? For me for example, it is life. I trust that life always brings me lessons to help my inner growth and to bring me to where I know my purpose and heart are meant to go.
Once you identify where your trust lies, here are some things you can do to apply that trust in everything else and lift that weight so that you may pursue inner growth in the moment.
- Pay attention to your feelings in a moment where you are deciding something and notice if you feel any weight on your shoulders or maybe some tension in your chest. As you bring your attention there, redirect your thought to the feeling of trust that comes with what you trust.
- As you feel the weight lifting, think of how this situation and/or decision you’re making can help you no matter what shape or form it takes.
- Make a list of what you find most challenging removing from that weight factor and find out why this feeling persists from within, what else is there that you may be looking to let go of or overcome.
