Inner Growth Word of the Day: Intuition

Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1. quick and ready insight.  2 a. immediate apprehension or cognition.  2 b. knowledge or conviction gained by intuition.  2 c. the power or faculty of attaining to direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference.

Intuition in a sentence: When you have intuition and you listen to it, it has a huge impact in your life.

Intuition in action: Knowing something about a person or situation at first sight is considered intuition.

Intuition and inner growth: Paying attention to your intuition brings inner growth as you explore it in-depth gaining insights into your inner compass, which enables you to break it down in such a way that you can clearly see and understand everything that is a part of it.

Intuition and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: When did I first notice my intuition? How much attention do I pay my intuition?  What have I learned from my intuition?  How has my intuition affected my life?  What role does my intuition play in my relationships?  Why does my intuition matter to me?  When have I noticed my intuition more and why was it more noticeable?

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with intuition at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. From this list think of at least one instance where your intuition was spot on and one instance where it wasn’t.  Write about both situations using the words from your list and notice what the biggest differences between them.

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about your intuition and take note of where they start, how they flow throughout and if they settle in any areas of your body. As you do this, pay attention to the thoughts that cross your mind and accompany this moment of silence with a visualization of any place you feel most at home.
