Inner Growth Word of the Day: Inner balance

 

No set definition, but with inner meaning inside and balance meaning mental and emotional steadiness and stability obtained with an even distribution of weight; we can safely say that inner balance is inner equilibrium with yourself, your decisions, your life.

 

Inner balance in a sentence: Arriving at inner balance requires time, patience, and perseverance; like many things in life, it is a process you awaken to and choose when you’re ready.

 

Inner balance in action: Having equilibrium within, on an emotional level, when dealing with life situations, contemplations, and people; is inner balance.

 

Inner balance and inner growth: Achieving inner balance walks hand in hand with inner growth, as you do one you also work on the other.  However, when you explore your inner balance, and moments where there is a lack of inner equilibrium, this is when you explore inner balance to further inner growth.  From your exploration you’ll find the things you are bothered by, reasons for turmoil and imbalances, and you’ll be able to work with yourself on resolving issues and/or transforming situations.

 

Inner balance and inner growth action steps:

  1. In-depth self-exploration questions: What does inner balance mean to me? How does inner balance affect my life?  Why is inner balance something I’m looking into?  When was the first time I experienced inner balance?  Who has affected my inner balance?  What ways do I work on inner balance?  How has inner balance affected my relationships?

 

  1. List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with inner balance at the center and then list or put around it all the words that come to mind associated with it. From this list think of the first time you felt inner balance and write about it using the words from your list.

 

  1. Bring your awareness to your feelings about your inner balance and notice how they change, where they go, and what stands out the most about the feelings that you are experiencing. As you do this try to sit still and in quiet for five minutes or so, then allow thoughts to come in so that you can notice what changes happen to your emotions as you start thinking versus when sitting in silence.
