Inner Growth Word of the Day: Learning
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (n.) 1. the act or experience of one that learns. 2. knowledge or skill acquired by instruction or study. 3. modification of a behavioral tendency by experience.
Learning in a sentence: Learning in life is never-ending and how you apply what you learn or the habits that you acquire from learning will depend on you.
Learning in action: When one acquires a skill, notion, or experience in time that is learning.
Learning and inner growth: Inner growth has everything to do with learning, but it is how you decide to apply what you learn that can lead to growth or stifle growth. As long as you explore within as you are learning and stay open as much as possible to hearing your heart, you will hear and follow growth for your inner self.
Learning and inner growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: What does learning mean to me? How has learning affected my life? How has learning affected my relationships? When was the last time I was in a learning environment? Who has influenced me the most in my learnings? What importance do I give learning when it comes to my inner growth? How has learning affected my inner growth and self-awareness, self-worth?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with learning at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. With the words you listed, think of one word that connects them all. From this word think of an important learning experience you had and use the words from your first list to write about this incident.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings about learning and allow your emotions to freely flow. Don’t bring in any thoughts, instead notice where your feelings arise and where they go. Follow the energy with your eyes and if you notice it stopping in specific areas of your body, give it a little push to send it along down stream like river heading towards the ocean. When you’re ready let thoughts come in and notice what learning experiences come to mind.
