Inner Growth Word of the Day: Consistent
Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition: (adj.) 2 a. marked by harmony, regularity, or steady continuity. 2 b. marked by agreement. 2 c. showing steady conformity to character, profession, belief, or custom.
Consistent in a sentence: When you are consistent in life it means you’ve found your happy medium on the inside.
Consistent in action: When there is harmony and a continuity of actions, thoughts, and spoken words, that is consistent.
Consistent and inner growth: An exploration of what is consistent in your life allows you to pursue inner growth seeing as where you find inconsistent behavior or traits you also find unresolved queries, questions you have multiple answers to, and/or considerations to ponder over. All of this brings you to find out more about yourself, resolve any gaps and find your happy medium.
Consistent and inner growth action steps:
- In-depth self-exploration questions: How do I view consistent traits in my life? What role does consistent behavior have for me? Is it important to me to be consistent? When was the first time I thought about consistent as a way of life? How has consistent behavior affected my life? In what way has consistent behavior affected my relationships? What are some of the biggest takeaways I’ve had from consistent traits that are a part of my life and me?
- List or word bubble: Make a list or word bubble with consistent at the center and then list or put around it all the other words that come to mind associated with it. From this list pick three words that represent the entirety of what it means to you to be consistent. Then think of one of the times your consistent behavior affected a situation. Use the words from your first list to write about this event and then compare your story to what consistent means to you as you described previously with the three words you chose from your list.
- Bring your awareness to your feelings about consistent and let them flow freely without giving them much thought. As you do this imagine being in your relaxing place and see where your emotions go to as you visualize this place. Feel your emotions and notice where they go to settle. Once you’re ready let thoughts come in and focus on the one thing that stands out the most as you start thinking. From here allow the emotions of that thought/thing to do the talking.
